Sunil Kapali, President of Machhindra FC, will be ANFA Vice President after the ANFA elections are held in September. Mr. Kapali is running unopposed for the post. Under his stewardship, Machhindra FC was promoted from “B” division to “A” division and finished 6th in the last edition of the league, capturing the “Fair Play Award”. The club also signed a landmark sponsorship deal with Energizer Batteries, brought in well respected foreign players and coach, developed links with international clubs such as Aston Villa (UK) and Geylang United (Singapore) and launched an Internet website.
On confirmation of securing the post, Mr. Kapali thanked club members and supporters and vowed to take the club to even greater heights.
